UPDATE: This Training Track is now full.
Description:
Eliminating disparities in behavioral health in a community requires the involvement and commitment to collaborative efforts by multiple diverse parties. This level of collaboration is complex and dependent on stakeholders understanding and ability to manage change, understand culture, engage conflict and communicate effectively. Participants in this workshop will gain awareness, increase knowledge and apply new skills on both individual and organizational levels within each of the 4 Cs of collaboration. Through reflection, interactive exercises and dialogue as well as presentation, they will apply their new learning to challenges they are currently facing as well as create an action plan for the future.
Audience:
Collaboration is most affective when all concerned stakeholders are able to participate effectively and bring their diverse perspectives to potential solutions. We encourage interested organizations to send a team of 2-4 members who bring these diverse perspectives, e.g. school counselors, ethnic /youth advocacy organization leaders, local government/funder representatives, family members, etc.
Outcomes:
Particiants will:
-
Increase their understanding of the value and process of collaboration for themselves and their organizations;
-
Identify and understand conflict, culture and change as a part of collaboration; and
-
Increase awareness and application of a framework for cross cultural dialogue
