This webinar that took place on June 2, 2010 was sponsored by the Center for Mental Health Services National Center for Trauma-Informed Care in collaboration with the National Leadership Council on African American Behavioral Health.  The webinar features a a community-based approach to rebuild safe, healthy communities. Participants learned key principles to creating trauma-informed communities; how to articulate a community-based approach to violence prevention; and how to identify strategies to facilitate community connections.

Trauma has a pervasive impact on all of us and can alter the world view about relationships with ourselves, others and communities. The CMHS National Center for Trauma-Informed Care in collaboration with the National Leadership Council on African American Behavioral Health is pleased to announce a free webinar on strategies to incorporate a community based approach to rebuild safe, healthy communities and address challenges necessary to promote community connections. The webinar is a unique learning opportunity to engage communities in dialogue about strategies of empowerment that can promote healing and restore hope in the midst of violence.
