Experiences with HIV Testing Among African Americans in the U.S. (posted 6/24)

Posted: June 24, 2009

As National HIV Testing Day approaches on June 27, the Kaiser Family Foundation has new and updated informational resources available on HIV testing, including a survey brief entitled, Views and Experiences with HIV Testing Among African Americans in the U.S.  The survey examines African Americans' reported views and experiences with HIV testing. The U.S. AIDS epidemic has disproportionately affected African Americans, who account for nearly half of new infections, while representing just 12 percent of the U.S. population. The brief highlights trends in African Americans’ reported experiences with HIV testing, and differences among African Americans by age and gender.  To download the survey brief click here .  To view all of the resources the Kaiser Family Foundation has released click here .
