Minority Health Issues Discussion at Whitehouse (posted 6/11)

Kaiser Health News reports on a discussion held Wednesday June 10th at the Whitehouse between Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius and White House Health Czar Nancy Ann DeParle concerning minority health issues.  According the Associated Press, during the discussion Sebelius "said the Obama administration is committed to addressing the 'alarming disparity in the delivery of quality health care'," which she said was necessary to lower costs.  To read the news article from Kaiser Health News click here .

At this discussion Secretary Sebelius released a new report on health disparities in America.  The report entitled Health Disparities: A Case for Closing the Gap highlights some of the glaring disparities that exist in the current health system.  To view the report at healthreform.gov click here .
